Software Update: DivXG400 2.83

It was not long ago that major compatibility issues existed between the Microsoft MPEG4, WM7 and WM8 codecs and the Matrox G400 and G450 video cards. Although the problems got smaller with each driver release, the DivXG400 program, which at the time was built by a few volunteers to solve this problem, has only grown. The software, which acts as a filter between the video file and the media player, now contains a number of impressive features such as extensive options for tweaking your image and adding subtitles to a movie:

• Image adjustment (Pan & Scan, aspect ratio correction, overscan compensation)
• High quality subtitle display in windowed and full screen mode. DivXG400 supports almost every known subtitle format: SubViewer 1.0, 2.0, SubRip, MicroDVD, SAMI, Sub Station Alpha 3.0, 4.0, JACOsub, DVDSubtitle, VobSub 3.0 … 7.0, TMPlayer, SMIL-RealText, AqTitle. Additionally, MicroDVD INI-files are accepted as a wrappers to real subtitle files.
• Subtitle output to TV in DVDMax mode (of course, all “classical” modes are supported, too)
• Near to 24fps clip playback at 25fps

[break]In the new version of DivXG400, again 2.83, the following changes have been made:[/break]- Improved FPS detection in case of “secretive” codecs, like DivX 4/5.
– Automatic TV output format selection.
– Added support for VobSub 7 subtitles.
– No flipped image using Elecard MPEG decoder anymore.
– Improved subtitle renderer.
– Fixed remaining time OSD malfunction.
– Image doubler or small clips for better subtitle quality.
– Most power-hungry functions are now implemented in optimized MMX assembler
– No subtitle flickering in single-buffer mode.
Known Problems:
– FPS conversion requires use of Default DirectSound Device.[break]More than enough reasons to upgrade again. You can program here to fetch. Anyone who thinks that the software will only work on a Matrox card is wrong: the software runs on every conceivable video card, although some features are unfortunately only available to Matrox owners.
