Software update: Daum PotPlayer 1.6 build 47058

Daum PotPlayer is a media player for Windows. It is being developed by the Korean who started KMPlayer, which is now published by Pandora TV. The player has built-in support for a large number of formats and is therefore not dependent on separately installed codecs. For the time being, the latest version can only be downloaded as an update for an existing installation. Since version 1.5 build 45955 of the following changes and improvements have been made:

  • Added an option to use stream aspect ratio into built-in video codec settings;
    • Checked = Use stream AR (which Media Info calls “original display aspect ratio”)
    • Unchecked = Use container AR (which Media Info calls “display aspect ratio”)
    • Neutral = Use stream AR when there is no container AR

    They’re planning to publish a global version at the latest middle of April 2014!

** You need to place the dtsdecoderdll.dll into base or module folder of PotPlayer and then select it from F5 > Filter Control > Audio Decoder > Built-in Codec Settings > dts.
