Software Update: CudaText 1.168.0

Version 1.168.0 of CudaText has been released. This open source and cross platform text editor is available for Windows, Linux, macOS, BSD and Solaris. It has extensive options which are of particular interest to software developers. It is developed in Object Pascal, starts quickly and through Python add-ons the functionality can be further extended. The program is under active development and new versions appear regularly. The changelog since version 1.167.0 looks like this:

Added:

  • Command-line parameter ‘-verbose’ for debugging

Fixed:

  • Couple of issues with saving read/only files
  • Linux Qt5: with “caret_after_end”:true, on going up/down over short lines, caret moves lefter
  • Linux: file ‘ast.py’ in the current folder was breaking many plugins
  • Lexer Bash: wrong highlight in ‘~/.local’

Changes in version 1.167.5

Added:

  • Use translated button captions in message boxes, both internal and API

  • Option “renderer_tweaks” has new sub-option “l”

Fixed:

  • Regression in 1.166.5: saved _named_ session was not reopened
  • Sometimes, bookmarks section in the history file was purged by mistake
  • Click on the folded-block-rectangle hides caret
  • In eg Python lexer, new typed text may be ‘catched’ by the upper _folded_ block
  • On some Linux systems, with dots_per_inch=91, minimap is empty
  • Lexer’s XML/XML^: highlight quoted string only after ‘=’
  • Lexer Markdown: rule for italics
