Software Update: CCleaner 5.33.6162

Piriform has released version 5.33 of CCleaner. This program can be used to clean various parts of Windows. This includes temporary Windows and Internet files, but also unnecessary junk from a large number of other programs, including Windows Media Player, Google Toolbar, Microsoft Office, Photoshop, WinRAR and so on. In addition, the number of programs that CCleaner can clean up can easily be expanded with the CCEnhancer program.

In addition to cleaning, CCleaner can also fix errors in the registry and shortcuts, modify the list of programs that start with Windows, and it is possible to manage cookies. In addition to free version, there is also a pro version, which includes an automatic update function. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

Settings

  • Fixed an issue where Automatic Update continued to inform users of an existing update after the setting had been disabled

Browser Cleaning

  • Updated Edge cookie cleaning definitions to include new tables from Microsoft
  • Fixed an issue in Firefox where extensions could not be deleted due to withdrawal of support for Netscape Plugin API
  • Fixed an issue in Firefox & Thunderbird where cleaning ‘Site Preferences’ would also clean ‘Last Download Location’

Browser Plugins

  • Browser Plugins list now saved as browserplugins.txt (not startup.txt)

Disk Analyzer

  • Fixed an issue where analysis results did not display the full filepath

Stability

  • Improved CCleaner launch sequence to resolve a UI lock
