Software Update: Caliber 4.20.0

Version 4.20.0 of Caliber has been released. This open source ebook manager is available for Windows, Linux, and macOS. Among other things, it can look up all relevant information and cover images, and convert e-books to make them suitable for the various types of e-readers. Furthermore, the program can convert newspapers, magazines and news articles based on RSS feeds into e-book format. Books can also be purchased with Caliber at the well-known web stores. In version 4.0 we find a completely renewed Content Server, there is a new e-book viewer and Qt WebKit has been replaced by Qt WebEngine. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

New features

• Edit book: Preview: Support displaying mathematics.
• Kobo driver: Add support for the latest firmware version.
• Allow copy/pasting dates from columns having different date display formats. Close tickets: 1885004.
• Book details panel: When right clicking on tags/authors/etc. allow finding them in the Tag browser easily. Close tickets: 1884343.
• Allow selecting individual items to delete in the Check library dialog. Close tickets: 1884402.
• Add an option to the wireless device driver to ignore device free space when sending books.

Bug fixes

• Viewer: Fix turning pages in paged mode with a high precision touchpad to generate scroll events too fast.
• Edit book: Fix pasting files from another editor instance causing unsaved changes in open editors to be lost. Close tickets: 1885455.
• Tag browser: Do not show counts for searches as they are always zero
• Check library: Do not abort if there are folders in the library that caliber does not have permission to access. Close tickets: 1884544.
• Amazon metadata download: Fix download of ratings not working from amazon.co.jp. Close tickets: 1884400.
