Software Update: BWMeter 5.0.0
DeskSoft has released version 5.0.0 of BWMeter. With this program the data traffic to and from the computer or on the network can be monitored, whereby a distinction can be made between local and internet traffic. The program doesn’t just look at the amount of bits and bytes that are fed in and out; the data packets are also analyzed. This makes it possible to see where they come from, where they are going and which protocol is being used. It is also possible to monitor or limit traffic to and from certain internet pages and statistics are kept that can be plotted in graphs.
In version 5 a lot has changed in the program. BWMeter can now also be used as a firewall and it is possible to monitor or limit traffic per application. Furthermore, the performance has improved and the memory usage has decreased. BWMeter works on Windows 2000 up to and including Windows 7, including 64-bit editions and a license costs just over 22 euros. Below is the complete changelog for version 5.0.0:
