Bitwarden is a cross-platform and open source password management service that stores personal data in an encrypted digital vault. It is basically free to use and access is available for a small amount per year various extras, such as being able to log in with a hardware key for extra security and storage capacity for attachments. Bitwarden is available online, as a desktop client, as a mobile app and as a plug-in for various web browsers. The changelog also shows the following changes and improvements:

Changes in Bitwarden 2023.7.0

  • Login with device for self-hosted: Bitwarden applications connected to self-hosted servers can now log in by sending an authentication request to a registered device instead of using a master password (see here).
