Software update: BearShare 4.7.0 beta 2

After a long run of 4.6.0 series betas, BearShare Labs has updated its file sharing program BearShare to 4.7.0. The second beta of this series has now become available. This program allows files to be shared over the Gnutella network. This network is also used by various other programs and the offer is therefore very large. As usual with the betas of this program it will only work for two weeks after which a newer version will have to be downloaded. The changelog for this release looks like this:

  • Console messages under Legacy Library/Info to show file changes, and flow of execution of watcher.

  • Made “number of retries of unverified Tiger blocks” configable, & set to 8
  • Parse agent header of “morph410 xxxx (GnucDNA xxxx)” and “morph420 xxxx (GnucDNA xxxx)” and “morph406 xxxx (GnucDNA xxxx)”.
  • Improvement of tiger chunk verification thread throttling
  • Hide GDownload, GUpload and GDownloadStream from memory report.
