An update has been released for the 0.9.9.0 version of BatteryCare, which was released earlier this week. This program provides information about the battery in a laptop and can help with its optimal use. This is how . becomes recommended to fully discharge the battery once after 30 charges. BatteryCare can indicate exactly when that time has come. The program can also automatically turn off Aero and other power-hungry items when the battery is used and turn them back on when the adapter is plugged in. BatteryCare is free, resides in the system tray, and uses very few resources. The following improvements have been made in this release:

Changes in version 0.9.9.1:

  • Quick fix: CPU temperature readings for Intel Core i3 were reading higher than normal.
  • Quick-fix: An error window would popup when resuming from standby on some systems.
  • Quick-fix: In some systems the program would crash if it failed to obtain the HDD temperature.
