Software Update: Avast Antivirus 2014 RC2

Alwil Software has released the second release candidate of version 2014 of its Avast security tools. The program is available in the free Free Antivirus, and the paid Pro Antivirus and Internet Security versions. In addition, there is Premier, which has additional management functions, such as the possibility to take over a PC remotely and possibly erase the hard disk. In version 2014, the various components have been improved, the web browser can be placed in safe mode for online shopping and banking, and a self-starting CD or USB stick can be made from the program to scan the computer offline.

Avast 2014 RC2 (9.0.2004)
We’ve fixed lot of problems in this RC, here is the list of the most important ones:

• disable MS firewall during AIS installation (but after reboot!)
• SMTP alert fixes
• several fixes of very unspecified crashes

• GUI isn’t freezing any more

Avast 2014 RC1 (9.0.2003)

• FW sometimes blocked downloading of files
• WebShield is now fully IPv6 compatible
• ARA was not fully compatible with previous versions of avast!
• UI statistics page was redesigned
• Disabling of the Web Shield is now working fine

• Network protection component tuning & compatibility (Win8)
• no more Tdi technology
• Windows 8.1 compatibility
• Smooth updates of VPS & program
• Updated the SafeZone browser
• IE crashes fixed
