Software Update: Apache OpenOffice 4.1.6

Apache OpenOffice 4.1.6 was released a few days ago. This open source office package started in 1984 as StarOffice. It passed into the hands of Sun Microsystems in 1999 and then joined Oracle in 2010. After a number of developers switched to LibreOffice out of dissatisfaction with how Oracle managed this project, the source code was eventually donated to the Apache Software Foundation. OpenOffice comes with a word processor (Writer), a spreadsheet program (Calc), a presentation program (Impress), a drawing program (Draw), a database program (Base), and a scientific notation program (Formula). Apache OpenOffice, the leading Open Source office document productivity suite, announced today Apache OpenOffice 4.1.6, now available in 41 languages ​​on Windows, macOS and Linux. Apache OpenOffice 4.1.6 is a maintenance release aimed at correcting some regressions and delivering the latest English dictionary. All users of Apache OpenOffice 4.1.5 or earlier are advised to upgrade.

  • Save As … Docbook now works correctly for Windows 7 and Windows 10
  • Updated logos
