Software Update: AnyDVD 6.6.4.8

Spread the love

SlySoft released version 6.6.4.8 of AnyDVD on Monday. This program runs in the background in Windows and is able to bypass the region and copy protections of DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray discs on the fly. It is also able to skip ‘mandatory parts’, such as copyright and FBI warnings. Finally, the speed of the drive can be adjusted to reduce the noise produced during playback.

A license of AnyDVD costs 41 euros, while the HD version has to pay 63 euros. Previously, a buyer received a lifetime license for this, but since January 1, 2009 this has been converted into a license that is valid for only one year. This can be extended for a few euros more, for example 49 euros for a two-year standard edition. Incidentally, since then a ‘temporary’ discount of 20 percent has been given on the purchase price and until now that discount period has been extended each time. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

Changes in version 6.6.4.8:

  • New (Blu-ray): Added support for new BD+ protections
  • New (Blu-ray): Updated decryption keys
  • New (DVD): Added support for new protections
  • New (DVD): Added separate options to enable reading and writing to / from the CSS archive
  • New: Added support for Roxio CinePlayer 5.3
  • Fix (Blu-ray): Crash with some BD+ protections
  • Fix: Some settings were not remembered
