Software Update: Anapod Explorer 8.9.5

Red Chair Software has updated Anapod Explorer to version 8.9.5. This program is one of the better alternatives for managing the music collection on iPod. Anapod Explorer integrates seamlessly into Windows, supports all iPod models ever made and, in addition to the standard functionality you would expect, also has a built-in web server so that the iPod can be accessed from a web browser, an embedded SQL database engine that offers extensive search options and can reports are generated in text, HTML or XML. This release includes improvements to support for the iPod Video added in the previous release. The full changelog looks like this:

New Features:

  • Improved Video Support for 5G iPod with Video
    Version 8.9.5 includes a new top-level Videos folder, separating all video content from audio content. You can now transfer video content to the iPod by dragging and dropping supported video format files to the Videos folder. Also new in this release is the ability to transfer MP4 video files in addition to the existing support for M4V and MOV formats.

Enhancements and Bug Fixes:

  • Added new option to hide the iPod Shuffle systray icon for Universal Edition users.
  • Significant speed and robustness improvements in tag reading for M4A, M4P, M4B, MP4, and MOV files.
  • New top-level Photos icon provides easier access to PhotoSync feature.
  • Removed extraneous dashes from the display of tracks without Artist, Album, or Track Number information, improving readability in track listings.
