Software Update: AkelPad 4.7.8

Version 4.7.8 of AkelPad has been released. This fast open source text editor is less than 400KB unpacked, but still has an extensive range features. It can be used as a replacement for the Notepad or Notepad supplied with Windows, but also for programming. Through plugins add additional functionality, including syntax highlighting, autocompletion, scripts, and macros. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

Changed:

• \n and \r metacharacters processing in regular expressions.
• Hotkey for command 4206 is now Ctrl+*.

Added:

• Ability to use an image as the editor background. Program start can be much faster, if images will be in bmp format.
• Ability to use regular expressions in syntax highlighting rules.
• Manual parameter for “MouseOptions” with a value of 32 – deny changing font size by scrolling mouse wheel with Ctrl key.

Fixed:

• Search for surrogate pairs with regular expressions.
• Search with regular expressions and %se[text] variable or manual parameter “StatusUserFormat”
• Headlines background when using background for printing.
