Software update: Acoo Browser 1.96 build 980

The developers behind Acoo Browser have released version 1.96 build 980 of the web browser of the same name. Acco Browser is a so-called ‘wrapper’; it uses Internet Explorer’s internal engine to display the pages, but the interface is from Acoo Browser itself. Of course it also adds the necessary additional functionality although this is less impressive with the arrival of Internet Explorer 7. Some of the extra features are an Html Source Viewer with syntax highlighting, mouse gestures, shortened URLs and the ability to zoom in and out of web pages. Since the previous entry in the Meuktracker, the following changes and improvements have been made:

Changes in version 1.96 build 980:

  • Added “Open Link in New Window” and “Search Web for” to the context menu for web pages.
  • Fixed a bug in the “Page Analyzer”.
  • Enhanced the “Execute Scripts” dialog.
  • Now you can show the user script’s name in status bar when this user script be executed in the opened web page.
  • Small enhancements and a few bugs fixed.

Changes in version 1.95.764:

  • Now you can install user scripts from web link.
  • Added AC_xmlhttpRequest API.
  • Enhanced the “Execute Scripts” dialog.
  • Small enhancements and a few bugs fixed.

Changes in version 1.94.998:

  • Added greasemonkey alike script support (user script which can modify specific web pages).
  • Fixed the bug of Acoo Browser crash occasionally caused by skin.
  • Enhanced the “Execute Scripts” dialog.
  • Improved focus behavior on startup.
  • Small enhancements and a few bugs fixed.
