Software Update: 7-Zip 9.10 Beta

The developers of 7-Zip released a new beta release of their eponymous archiving program on Saturday. 7-Zip can handle a variety of compression formats, including zip, cab, rar, arj, lzh, chm, gzip, bzip2, z, tar, cpio, rpm, deb, and of course the proprietary 7z. Furthermore, the software is capable of opening iso files and Nsis installation packages. The program is available for Windows, in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions, and the Windows Mobile platform. Version 9.10 beta ships with the following changelog:

  • The BUG in 7-Zip 9.09 beta was fixed: 7-Zip created incorrect ZIP archives, if ZipCrypto encryption was used
