Software update: 7-Zip 23.01

Version 23.01 of 7-Zip has been released, a stable release. This open source archive program can handle a large number of compression formats, including zip, cab, rar, arj, lzh, chm, gzip, bzip2, z, tar, cpio, rpm, deb and of course the proprietary 7z. Furthermore, the software is capable of opening ISO files and NSIS installation packages. The changelog for this release looks like this:

What’s new after 7-Zip 11pm:

• The page “Language” in 7-Zip’s Tools/Options menu now shows information about selected translation, including the number of translated lines.
• Some bugs were fixed.
