Signify makes Philips Hue LED strip modular with connectors

Signify has updated some Philips Hue lamps and announced a Hue White A21 lamp with E27 fitting and a light output of 1600 lumens. The Hue Lightstrip Plus has Bluetooth support and is modular.

Signify now supplies a connector for the Hue Lightstrip Plus to connect strips and cut pieces. Connection points have been placed every few centimeters to which the connection can be connected. Bluetooth support is now also available, so that installation is easier and operation is also possible for users without a Hue Bridge. The new version of the Hue Lightstrip Plus will be released in mid-June. The Hue Lightstrip Plus of two meters with all accessories costs 80, an extension of one meter costs 25 euros.

As its name implies, the Philips Hue White A21 has an A21 form factor, making the lamp slightly larger than the A19 aka A60 models you usually see. The light output of 1600 lumens translates into the equivalent of a 100W lamp, according to Signify. In comparison, the existing Hue White with E27 fitting offers a maximum of 806 lumens. According to the manufacturer, the A21 lamp is therefore especially suitable for rooms where a lot of light is needed, such as garages. The Philips Hue White A21 will be released in mid-June for 24.95 euros.

The Bloom table lamp is also getting an update. The light output has been increased from 120 to 500 lumens and this lamp is also equipped with Bluetooth support. In addition, stronger dimming is possible than before. The Bloom 2020 table lamp will be available in white and black in mid-June for 80 euros.

At the end of June, the new Hue Centris ceiling lamps will be available, consisting of diffuse ceiling lighting and directional spots. The Centris appears in both white and black variants and with two, three or four white or colored spots. The spots can be rotated 350 degrees and can be controlled individually. The starting price is 280 euros and the most expensive variant costs 450 euros.
