Sharp will be demonstrating a 120″ LCD TV with 8k resolution at the IFA trade show in Berlin. According to the manufacturer, it is the largest LCD TV to date. The TV can also connect to 5G networks, which Sharp calls an 8k+5g ecosystem.

Apart from the size and the resolution, Sharp has not yet disclosed any details about its large 8k TV. The diagonal of the TV is 120 “, or 304 centimeters. The screen with 16:9 ratio is about 150 cm high and 266 cm wide.

Sharp says it will use the TV as part of its showcase for an ‘8k+5g ecosystem’. In addition to the TV, the manufacturer will also show cameras and camcorders that can take images in 8k resolution and communicate via 5g. At the IFA fair, Sharp wants to show applications of the ecosystem in the field of medical science and art.

Whether Sharp will actually release the 120″-8k TV is unknown. The largest 8k TVs in the consumer market to date are the 98″ models from Samsung and Sony. They cost 60,000 and 80,000 euros respectively.
