Meta may be working on an AI chatbot for Instagram. This is evident from two screenshots shared by developer Alessando Paluzzi. Based on the screenshots, users appear to be able to choose from “thirty AI personalities” to chat with.

“Talk to thirty AI personalities and find out which one you like the most,” reads one of the screenshots that Alessando Paluzzi shares on Twitter. Examples of what the bot can do include answering questions, giving advice and helping with writing messages. Furthermore, it appears as if users can add the bot into a private conversation with another user by typing ‘@ai’.

In February, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the team was working on ChatGPT-like features for Instagram and Facebook. Later that same month, the tech giant merged several AI teams to implement chatbots in its apps, among other things. However, more details have not yet been officially announced.

Paluzzi has shared several unannounced social media features in the past by scouring test versions of apps. For example, he was the first to announce that Instagram would have a BeReal-like function. He also discovered that the latter app is working on a function that automatically shows a playing music track with a photo.
