Samsung introduces the ViewFinity series of monitors with a high resolution and wide color gamut. There will be two ViewFinity S8 models; these are 16:9 IPS monitors with a 4k resolution and diagonals of 27″ and 32″. The screens have a USB-C and Ethernet connection.

The ViewFinity S8 Monitors can display 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut, according to Samsung. Samsung uses IPS panels with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels, a response time of 5ms, a refresh rate of 60Hz and support for 10bit display. The screens are aimed at business use and applications where accurate color reproduction is important.

The 32″ model has a VESA DisplayHDR 600 certificate and a peak brightness of up to 600cd/m². The 27″ version has to make do with DisplayHDR 400 and a maximum of 400cd/m². Both monitors have a contrast ratio of 1000:1. Samsung emphasizes the matte finish of the panels and states that it reflects light. The monitors are adjustable in height, swivel and tilt.

The ViewFinity S8 screens have a USB-C connection with DisplayPort Alt Mode, a throughput of 10Gbit/s and 90W Power Delivery. The monitors also have a gigabit Ethernet connection, two HDMI 2.0 and a DisplayPort 1.4 connection.

The 32″ display has model number S32B800PXE and the 27″ version has model number S27B800PXE. According to Samsung, the monitors will be released worldwide at the end of June. The manufacturer does not yet mention recommended retail prices.

ViewFinity is a new name for Samsung monitors with a high resolution and wide color gamut. The manufacturer previously released similar models without that brand name. Last year, the company introduced twelve monitors in the S8, S7 and S6 series.
