Samsung has started selling its TV series called The Frame. The UHD TVs with removable frames can display works of art if they do not show a moving image. The 55″ version costs 2399 euros.

Samsung provides The Frame TVs with more than a hundred artworks that can be displayed. In addition, users can set the screen to display their own images. The TV contains a brightness and motion sensor. For example, the brightness of the artwork can be automatically adjusted based on ambient light. The motion sensor detects whether people walk in or out of the room, with which the Art Mode can be switched on or off automatically.

To make the TVs look more like a real painting, users can display different types and colors of passe-partouts. In addition, Samsung makes several frames available, such as walnut wood, oak wood and white metal. Incidentally, owners do not have to hang the device on the wall: there is an optional Studio Stand with which the TV can be placed in the room.

The 55″ version will be available for a suggested retail price of 2399 euros, while the 65″ version is available for a starting price of 3199 euros.
