Samsung has presented a ‘smartphone’ with a 7″ screen for the Chinese market. The Galaxy Tab Q supports telephony, 4G and is available from providers. The device is 19.2 x 9.9 cm in size, much larger than regular smartphones.

The device has a 7″ LCD with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, with which, unlike many tablets with the same screen size, it has an aspect ratio of 16:9; Samsung does use that aspect ratio with almost all its smartphones. The device also supports just as some of Samsung’s tablets, telephony, is equipped with 4g and is also only for sale from Chinese providers.

The ‘smartphone’ is 19.2×9.9cm in size, smaller than many 7″ tablets and most importantly narrower, which should make it easier to hold during a call. At that size, it is slightly wider than Sony’s Xperia Z Ultra, which 9.2 cm wide. The Note 3 from Samsung itself is almost 8 cm wide.

The Android device has a quad-core processor with a maximum clock speed of 1.2GHz, presumably a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400; that is obvious given the 4g support in the device.
