Samsung has expanded its health app Health with some features from the mindfulness app Calm. For now, the new features are only available in English in a dozen markets.

After the update, Samsung Health users will have access to more than 100 guided meditations, a library of Sleep Stories, a number of exclusive audio tracks and a new Daily Calm every day: that is a ten-minute workout to start the day relaxed. The guided meditations help the user, among other things, to relax or focus better, or to relieve anxiety and stress.

AndroidPolice discovered that some Calm features are free, but others require a paid subscription to the Calm Premium service. Prices range from about 12 euros per month or 53 euros per year to 265 euros for a lifetime subscription. There is also a free trial version of Calm Premium.

According to Samsung, the new feature will be available immediately in ten markets: Australia, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, United States, Great Britain and Ireland. It is unknown if and when the service will be rolled out in other countries. The new features require at least Android 9 Pie. Later, the Calm functionality would also be available on the Galaxy Watch Active.

The Samsung Health platform has 60 million monthly active users, according to the South Korean tech giant. The app Calm is said to have been downloaded more than forty million times.
