Rumor: Samsung will release Galaxy S23 FE phone in second half of this year
Samsung may release a Galaxy S23 FE in the second half of this year. South Korean news medium Hankooki reports this based on its own sources. Samsung did not release a Fan Edition of the Galaxy S22 last year due to chip shortages.
According to Hankooki sources Samsung will release the Fan Edition version of its Galaxy S23 phone later this year. The company does not share specifications, but says that the device should be released in August or September. It would traditionally be a cheaper version of the Galaxy S23. Samsung announced that smartphone earlier this month.
Samsung first introduced such an FE version in its Galaxy S series in 2020. Among other things, the phone in question had the same primary camera as the more expensive S20, but had a lower screen resolution. Samsung also released an S21 FE a year later, but skipped its Fan Edition of the S22 last year due to chip shortages. The series would therefore make a return again this year.
Hankooki reports that Samsung will skip the release of its Galaxy A74 phone, to focus mainly on the S23 FE this year. Both phones would be released in the upper mid-range segment.
