Samsung will reportedly upgrade the Galaxy S8 and S8+ to Android 8.0 at the end of January or at the most early February. An employee of the South Korean manufacturer would have said that in a topic on the Galaxy Beta forum.

On the non-public forum, the employee says that if the beta still contains many bugs, Samsung will postpone the release to early February, otherwise it will be the end of January, writes SamMobile. The South Korean smartphone maker has released three betas of Android 8.0 for the Galaxy S8 and S8+, but does not consider the current versions stable enough to offer an upgrade to all users.

With this, Samsung would give the S8 an upgrade five months after the release of Android 8.0. Some other manufacturers like OnePlus, HTC and HMD have already pushed Oreo to some of their models. Google did that of course before and the Pixel phones are now on 8.1.

The fourth beta of Oreo for the Galaxy S8 will be released soon, according to the employee, but it is unknown when that will happen. Samsung has not officially announced anything about the upgrade for its main devices of 2017. The manufacturer has not yet released a list about which devices will receive upgrades to Oreo.
