Microsoft may soon introduce a Surface Laptop Studio 2 and a Surface Laptop Go 3. This is what German tech website WinFuture claims. Microsoft is holding an event next week where it will announce new Surface devices.

The new Surface devices will include a new CPU and GPU. That claims WinFuture, which often leaks information about Surface devices prematurely. For example, the Surface Laptop Studio 2 would come with a maximum of a Core i7-13800H CPU from Intel. It is based on the Raptor Lake architecture and has six P-cores and eight E-cores, for a total of fourteen cores and twenty threads.

The Surface Laptop Studio 2 also gets a maximum of 64GB Lpddr5x memory and a GeForce RTX 4050 or 4060 laptop GPU. There will also be a basic model of the laptop, which uses the integrated Xe GPU in the Intel processor. The device also gets a brighter screen, according to information from WinFuture, although the size remains unchanged at 14.4″. The resolution and refresh rate are also the same, at 2400×1600 pixels and 120Hz respectively. The device also keeps its unique ‘Dynamic Woven Hinge’ hinge, which allows the screen to be repositioned in different positions.

Furthermore, according to WinFuture, the Surface Laptop Studio 2 will have a USB-A port for the first time; the original didn’t have that. This new port will be available in addition to the two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 support. The laptop also gets a microSD card reader, but otherwise remains largely unchanged with, among other things, a 58Wh battery.

According to WinFuture, the device will have a higher recommended retail price. According to that website, the cheapest variant will cost 2,249 euros. A model with RTX 4050 GPU, 16GB memory and 512GB storage should cost 2,729 euros, while a variant with 32GB memory, 1TB storage and an RTX 4060 would have a suggested retail price of 3,199 euros. WinFuture has no information yet about the 64GB model, but speculates that it will cost around 3,700 euros. The tech website says the device will be released on October 3.

Surface Laptop Go 3 gets a new CPU, but otherwise remains virtually unchanged

WinFuture also has details about the alleged Surface Laptop Go 3. According to that medium, this laptop remains virtually unchanged compared to the Go 2. This time the device will have a Core i5-1235U processor from the Alder Lake series. This chip will have two P-cores and eight E-cores, for a total of ten cores and twelve threads. The screen and other features would remain the same. The basic model has 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage and costs 899 euros. The Surface Laptop Go 3 should be released in early October.
