Dell is working on a new version of the XPS 12 convertible, according to images and details released online. The 2-in-1 would have a detachable 12″ screen with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels and thin bezels. The XPS 12 would appear in October.

The rumor comes from the German site Giga, which has recently been publishing information from Dell’s internal product presentations more often. The specs list mentions an ‘UltraSharp 4K Ultra HD InfinityEdge touch display’ for the new XPS 12. The resolution would then be 3840×2160 pixels and the screen bezels may be as thin as those of the Dell XPS 13, which also features an InfinityEdge display. screen. The screen brightness would be 400cd/m2, which is quite high for a device of this type.

In addition, the laptop would have a Thunderbolt 3 connection and USB-C. Dell would supply the convertible with a stylus and the keyboard supports backlighting. The 2-in-1 seems to rest against a stand at the back, but it is not clear how it is attached to the tablet part or the keyboard. The manufacturer would also offer accessories such as a cover with magnetic attachment, USB-C adapter and docking station. It is not known what starting price the system should receive.
