Archos may soon come with an Android smartphone that features a 5 “screen, a 64-bit octacore soc and 4G connectivity for an estimated price of 199 euros. That is what the Arctablet website concludes from a teaser image of a new device from Archos.

In his teaser photo, Archos puts some numbers together with a close-up of the phone. Based on this information and the fact that Archos purchases phones from OEMs, Arctablet comes to the conclusion that it is probably a rebranded Touch 7 from the company K-Touch, a company where Archos previously purchased smartphones.

The Touch 7 features an ocatacore Qualcomm Snapdragon 615-soc. This soc is based on a 64-bit architecture and can make mobile connections via 4g. An Adreno 405 GPU is also included in the 615-soc. The device also has 2GB of RAM, a 5″ IPS touchscreen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and 16GB of flash storage with an expansion option of up to 64GB via a micro-SD card.

Archos, which until now has mainly marketed budget devices, would aim for a price tag of approximately 199 euros, according to Arctablet’s estimate, again referring to the teaser photo. There will probably be more clarity about the new device at the company’s press meeting on Wednesday.
