Rumor: Apple postpones presentation of VR headset for a few months

Apple would postpone the presentation of its VR headset by a few months, reports financial news agency Bloomberg. Apple had wanted to present the headset in April, but that would now happen in June.

With a presentation in June, Apple would probably announce the headset at its own developer conference WWDC. That would happen during an event for consumers in April.

The plan remains to start selling the VR headset later this year. It is unknown exactly when that will be and whether it will be later than planned. Apple is said to have postponed the headset once before, because the presentation was scheduled for June last year. That then shifted to January of this year and then to April. The headset has reportedly been in development for years.

It would be a VR headset with cameras on the outside to display an image of reality. Switching between VR image and reality would be done with a digital crown, like the one on the Airpods Max headphones. The headset would have a removable battery. The headset would run on an M2 chip from Apple itself.
