Arkham games creator Rocksteady has announced its next game. Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League will be an open-world third-person shooter that can be played alone or in co-op in teams of up to four players.

The announcement was accompanied by a CG trailer. In it, the likely protagonists are revealed: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark and Captain Boomerang. The four have been sent on an assassination mission by Waller, who has enforced the Suicide Squad’s cooperation by implanting bombs in their heads. This makes the game based on the comic series Suicide Squad vol. 4, parts of which were released between 2011 and 2014.

Kotaku, who was present at the presentation of the trailer, says that players can switch characters whenever they want and that bots take on the roles of team members who are not controlled by humans. Each team member has different strengths, including the ability to find places that are unreachable for others. The world of the game, the city of Metropolis, is completely open-world.

The game should be released on the next generation of consoles in 2022: the PS5 and Xbox Series X. In addition, the PC will also be provided with the game. The studio is also known for Batman: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Knight.

WB Games Montréal, the studio behind Batman: Arkham Origins, showed off its upcoming action RPG Arkham Knights this weekend.
