Resident Evil Village has been shipped over 3 million times worldwide. Publisher Capcom reports this on Tuesday. The game came out on May 7 this year and has had a strong first week according to the publisher.

Capcom made the number of copies delivered Tuesday known, a week after the game’s release. While the number of copies delivered is not the same as the number of copies sold, the game seems to be doing well. This is also evident from the Steam Charts from last weekend. The game had more than 106,000 players at peak times.

That’s more than the previous parts of Resident Evil. In addition, the game is well on its way to catching up with the previous part Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, which is the best-selling part in the series so far. Up to December last year, 8.5 million copies of Resident Evil 7 Biohazard have been delivered.

Resident Evil Village is not yet Capcom’s best-performing title this year. That is, for the time being, Monster Hunter Rise with 5 million shipped copies. This game came out for Switch on March 26th.

Resident Evil Village was discredited last week after film director Richard Raaphorst accused Capcom of having copied a sample from his film.
