PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will have a new playing field, which will be playable for the next tenth season. It is a relatively small, urban playing field, in which computer-controlled opponents receive a greater input, in the form of strong soldiers and combat vehicles.

The new playing field is called Haven and is intended to represent an industrial area of the American tranquility belt. The island covers a square kilometer, can accommodate 32 players and includes a harbor, a residential area, an industrial area and coal yards.

The story behind this playing field is that the island fell into disrepair in the 1980s due to the industrial decline. A secretive biotech company called Tythonic then came to the island and brought a sturdy security force, an army of mercenaries called Pillar.

Players will encounter Pillar, which includes an attack helicopter with a searchlight and an armed and invulnerable armored car. It is therefore important to remain hidden as much as possible and to maneuver quickly, whereby an emergency parachute to jump off roofs can help. There are also Pillar Commanders, armored guards who guard chests with strong weapons and supplies.

PUBG Corp has announced that this map will only be playable during the upcoming 10th season and that there is only a duo mode available, with solo players also available. Normal bots, such as those introduced earlier in the game and which have been criticized, are not present on the Haven playing field. Due to the relatively small playing field, rounds last shorter and less points can be earned than usual.

Update 10.1, including the new playing field, is currently available on the testing server. Season 10 will be released on PC on December 16 and the consoles will be released a day later. The tenth season will run until March 24.
