Update 22 has been released for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on PC. This gives players the opportunity to choose on which playing field they want to play. A competitive ranking system has also been added.

The patch notes state that PUBG Corp has reintroduced an option that allows players to choose an individual, specific playing field. That option was first introduced earlier this year, but later disappeared with the introduction of the relatively new, smaller Sanhok map. The developer expected an exponential increase in the number of separate queues due to the new map; so there was a separate queue for the existing maps Erangel and Miramar and a separate queue for Sanhok. This situation has now been released.

The new rank system consists of eight different ranks that are symbolized with different types of medals. Players can rank up or down based on points earned during a season. Players must complete ten rounds before being placed in one of eight categories. There is no separate row for rounds that are specifically about getting a higher rank; performance is tracked during normal matches.
