PUBG Dev To Change Desert Level And Update Anti-Cheat System
PUBG Corporation has released an update to the test servers with which the maker hopes to remove the criticism of the relatively new map Miramar. There will be more buildings and a new anti-cheat system for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, among other things.
The developer has said on Twitter that these changes to the Miramar map were made based on player feedback. In addition to the addition of buildings, more places will be added for players to take cover. Furthermore, the number of off-road routes will be expanded, so that it can be better navigated with vehicles. Finally, better items spawn in certain parts of the map, which should improve the balance.
In addition to the changes to the Miramar map, PUBG Corporation has also announced in the patch notes on Steam that a new anti-cheat system will be introduced on the test servers. This system is still under development; the addition of this on the test servers was done to test the stability and compatibility of the system. PUBG Corporation has not disclosed any further details about the new system. The game is plagued by a large amount of cheaters. BattleEye, the anti-cheat service that PUBG uses, announced in late December that 1.5 million bans have been issued for the game since March.
There is a lot of dissatisfaction from the players about the relatively new map Miramar. For example, some players have been discussing on Reddit the possibility of removing Miramar from PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds game files so that the level disappears from rotation with the original Erangel map. This method appears to work.
Miramar became available on the test servers in early December last year and has quite a few steep cliffs that partially limit the playing field. The area is by the sea; Miramar is therefore roughly the Spanish translation of ‘sea view’. The area is situated in a desert setting in Central or South America. Compared to the current Erangel map, the desert area has more and larger towns.
