After March 8, 2019, PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Vita owners will no longer receive new monthly games as part of their PlayStation Plus subscription. Sony will focus exclusively on the PS4 from that date.

Sony has announced the change via its PlayStation site and via emails to customers. Until March 8 next year, there will be new titles for the PS3 and Vita as part of the monthly Plus games. Any monthly PS3 or PS Vita game previously downloaded or added to download lists will remain playable as long as users remain a member of PlayStation Plus.

All other functions of the PlayStation Plus service will remain unchanged, Sony promises. The company reminds customers that those wishing to cancel their subscription may need to disable the auto-renewal option.

Sony announced the PlayStation 3 in November 2006 and it was released in Europe in March 2007. The company announced the Vita at the end of 2011 and this handheld appeared on the European market in early 2012.
