The privacytools.io website is back online in its old form. The old owner has removed the redirect to a fork of the website, so that the url points back to the old website. The administrator says that the site has a new UI and seems to have actively taken up management again.

From now on, visitors to privacytools.io will be redirected to the well-known homepage of the site. They will not go to the privacyguides.org fork that was created earlier this month. Privacy tools says on Twitter that it concerns a relaunch of the website. He calls that version ‘v0.1 classic’.

The website has a slightly different UI than before. According to the administrator, that is more like the old UI that was used in the past. The UI has less color and the blocks are slightly smaller. The site is also actively managed again. being recent several new tools included on the website.

With the relaunch, there definitely seems to be no more collaboration between the old administrators and the new fork Privacy Guides that came into existence earlier. Earlier this month, privacytools.io changed its name. This happened after the original administrator, with the alias burung hantu, had been absent for years, but did not want to relinquish the domain name. A few days later, burung hantu reappeared, and then said not to transfer the domain name. He already announced at the time that he wanted to continue with privacytools.io, but not in what form. Burung hantu says on Reddit that he no longer has access to the original GitHub repos, but that he wants them back.
