Preview versions of Apple TV and Apple Music appear in the Microsoft Store

Preview versions of Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Devices have appeared in the Microsoft Store. This means that Windows 11 users will soon be able to use those services on their system. Microsoft announced last year that these apps would come to its platform.

The preview versions of Apple Music, AppleTV and Apple Devices have recently been published in the Microsoft Store, tech website The Verifier was the first to notice. This allows Windows 11 users to listen to Apple Music in a separate app with a modern interface. Currently, users must use the Windows version of iTunes for this.

Apple TV will also have a native Windows app. Currently, only the web version of that streaming service works on Microsoft’s operating system. Apple also publishes a Devices app in the Microsoft Store. It can be used to synchronize iPads and iPods. This currently still works via iTunes.

Users who open the apps will be warned that iTunes will stop working if the apps are put into use, writes The Verge. Users who want to return to iTunes, for example to listen to podcasts or audiobooks, must first remove the preview apps from their system.

Apple’s new apps can only be downloaded for Windows 11 users; it is not known whether there will also be Windows 10 versions later. Macrumors notes that not all users can install the apps yet, but that will probably change soon. It is not known when the full, non-preview versions of the applications will be released.
