German developer Piranha Bytes announces rpg Elex. It should be an action RPG set in a futuristic environment. The game will have an open game world and will be marketed by Nordic Games.

Despite Piranha Bytes opening a website for the game, the German studio is not generous with information about Elex. It will be a “handmade action role-playing experience” set in a post-apocalyptic universe that is both science fiction and fantasy, if the creators are to be believed. The studio is creating a “seamless game world” for the game, full of mutated creatures and “original characters.” During the game, players make ‘deep moral choices’ while also expecting the necessary action from them. The title of the game is officially an abbreviation, which stands for Eclectic, Lavish, Exhilarating and Xenial.

Piranha Bytes, known for games such as Gothic and Risen, hopes to deliver the game by the end of 2016. Elex will be released for Windows, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game will be shown for the first time during GamesCom, the game fair that takes place in Cologne at the beginning of August.
