The website The Walkmanblog has found new images of what would be a prototype of the WF-1000XM4. These new wireless earphones from Sony have a somewhat rounder design than the elongated pill shape of the current WF-1000XM3.

The images from The Walkmanblog show six photos of each earbud. These earplugs now largely have the shape of a circle, which will probably serve as a touchpad to increase or decrease the volume, for example. At the bottom of this circle is a convex bulge, which has a gold-colored circle on the outside that protrudes from the housing. This gold-shaped ‘button’ may serve as a microphone.

The site also shows images of the charging case. Striking about this case is that a higher output of 5V = 140mA is mentioned. The WF-1000XM3 has an output of 5V = 120mA. With a quick charge function, the current earphones can last for an hour and a half after charging for ten minutes. The new ears will probably last longer after the same charging time. Sony may show the ears in early June. The site does not report how this got the images, but only says that they are ‘prototype images from a PDF document’.
