Images have emerged of a circuit board that may contain a GM210 GPU from Nvidia based on the Maxwell architecture and 8GB of memory. It would be an early version of the GeForce GTX 880 card.

The images first appeared on the Chinese site MyDrivers and show a circuit board of a video card and a close-up of the GPU. The GPU has the code designation 1421A1 from which it can be deduced that it is an A1 revision of the chip that was manufactured in the 21st week.

According to the Chinese source, it is a circuit board of the GTX 880 with the GM210, a high-end video chip based on the economical Maxwell architecture. The only desktop card chip that Nvidia has released so far was the NM204 of the GTX 750 and 750 Ti. According to Videocardz, these new photos also concern the GM204; the GM210 would not be expected until the second quarter of 2015.

In any case, the prototype is equipped with 8GB of memory, consisting of sixteen SKHynix H5GQ4H24MFR modules. Furthermore, there are three power connections, two six-pin and one eight-pin versions, which is striking given the energy savings that Nvidia has achieved. It is unclear what has been blurred in the images. Rumors have it that the GTX 880 will have a supportive arm-soc.
