CD Projekt RED has released the 1.61 update for Cyberpunk 2077, bringing the PC and current gen console versions of the game AMD FSR 2.1 support. As far as we know, Cyberpunk 2077 is the first console game to support FSR 2.1.

The PC version already supported an earlier version of FSR, but now it is being upgraded to FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.1. The current gen consoles didn’t have an FSR yet. Console games are not often equipped with AMD’s upscaling technique, although AMD said in March that it also wanted to bring FSR 2.0 to Xbox consoles. CD Project RED has it in the patch notes about ‘next-gen consoles’, which presumably refers to both the Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 consoles.

AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.1 should ensure less visual artifacts such as ghosting and shimmering, and for a better color gamut and more stable image. The company announced the 2.1 version in September. The upscaling technique is a counterpart to Nvidia DLSS and upscales frames that are rendered at lower resolution.
