Paris Games Week and Tokyo Game Show have been canceled for this year. The event in Paris was due to take place at the end of October and the Japanese games fair was scheduled for the end of September. The Tokyo Game Show will continue digitally.

Both events have been canceled due to the measures surrounding the corona pandemic. The two game fairs can count on hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. Paris Games Week would hold its tenth edition this year. Many major events have already been cancelled, but because the game fair in Paris would not start until October 23, no final decision had yet been made. There doesn’t seem to be a digital alternative for Paris Games Week. The organization does not say anything about this in the announcement.

The Tokyo Game Show was supposed to take place at the Makuhari Messe from September 24 to 27. The organization reports that the fair has been canceled to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, but the fair will continue online in a different form. The organization will announce more about the digital event at the end of May.

In the same period, another game fair is planned: PAX West in the American city of Seattle. That fair is to take place from 4 to 7 September and the organization seems to be sticking to that for the time being.
