Oppo has announced the F11 and F11 Pro in India. The devices have a 6.5″ LCD and the Pro has no notch. The front camera comes up from the housing to make that happen. The F11 does have a notch in the screen. Both devices have a micro-USB connection.

The F11 and F11 Pro use the MediaTek Helio P70 soc, which is currently also found in the ZTE Blade V10. According to Oppo, the pop-up camera that makes the ‘panorama screen’ possible must be able to be activated a hundred times a day for six years, before there is a chance of a defect due to wear. The screen has a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels.

On the back is both a 48-megapixel camera and a 5-megapixel camera. With AI-assisted functions such as face focus, ultra night mode and dazzle color mode, things like portraits and night photos should come out better, even in the dark.

The battery charge is saved because the phone has to be aware when, for example, it is in a metro or an airplane, where there is no mobile coverage. It will then supply less power to the modem. Even at night, the phone must be aware that the user is sleeping and take measures to save energy. It is not clear how this differs from existing resources that Android is already using. On the other hand, smart optimizations such as hyper boost should ensure that the phone performs faster in the OS, in apps and in games. The improvements are in Oppo’s new ColorOS 6.

As for charging, the phone has Vooc 3.0 technology on board. Oppo promises that the 4000mAh battery will go from completely empty to completely full in 80 minutes. According to Oppo, the phone can be used for 15.5 hours on a single charge, under typical usage scenarios. Furthermore, 12 hours of video watching and 5.5 hours of gaming should be possible on a charge. As far as connections are concerned, the two phones have a micro-USB connection surprisingly enough. A 3.5mm port is provided for audio input and output.

The phone comes in two colors: aurora green and thunder black. These show multiple colors depending on how the ambient light hits them. Aurora green, for example, shows mostly green, but also has undercurrents of blue in it. The non-Pro F11 is also made in fluorite purple, marble green and jewelry white.

The Oppo F11, without pop-up camera, 4GB ram and 64GB storage, will cost 19,990 rupees, converted with VAT that is about 303 euros. The F11 Pro with pop-up camera, 6GB ram and 128GB storage costs 24,990 rupees. That will be 379 euros with VAT. The device will go on sale in India later this month and the rest of the world should get it in the near future, Android Authority writes.
