OpenAI has removed a chatbot created for US presidential candidate Dean Phillips and banned its developers. The chatbot goes against the rule that political campaigns are not allowed through its apps.

As far as we know, it is the first time that OpenAI has taken action against a chatbot due to the new political rules, reports The Washington Post. The chatbot with the voice of Phillips made it possible to learn about the positions of the Democratic presidential candidate via a site. OpenAI sees this as campaigning with company technology and that is not allowed.

Dean.Bot is now offline. The company behind it initially wanted to try to rebuild the bot with open source technology that would allow it to be used for political campaigns, but for now, according to the site, the bot is unavailable and has been offline all weekend.
