Opel has given the electric Mokka, formerly known as Mokka-e, a new name and a larger range. The Mokka Electric will have a range of 406 kilometers, which is more than the previous version. There are no prices yet known for the new version.

According to parent company Stellantis the Mokka Electric has 20 percent more range than its predecessor, which at the time had a range of 338 km on paper based on the WLTP standard. The larger range is partly achieved by a larger battery pack of 54 instead of 50kWh.

According to the manufacturer, there is also a more efficient powertrain. The battery and electric motor of the new Astra Electric are now also used in the Mokka Electric. The electric motor is slightly more powerful than that of the previous version of the electric Mokka: 115 kW or 156 hp compared to 100 kW for the older model.

Charging at a fast charger is possible with a maximum of 100kW; in that case, the battery should be charged to 80 percent in half an hour. At a public charging station and alternating current, charging is done with a maximum of 11kW. According to Opel, the average energy consumption of the car is 15.2kWh per 100km based on the WLTP standard.
