Nokia has sent out invites to a Lumia event on April 2. The date coincides with the first day of Microsoft’s Build conference. It is likely that Nokia will announce something about Windows Phone 8.1.

The invitation, which was sent to Engadget among others, states that Nokia will show ‘more Lumia’ during the event on April 2. Whether this refers to new Lumia smartphones is still unclear. Recently, however, a render of the unannounced Lumia 630 came out, making it one of the candidates to be unveiled.

Nokia’s event will be held at the same time as Microsoft’s Build developer conference. The date does not seem to have been chosen by chance: Microsoft will probably announce Windows Phone 8.1 during its event, on which the Lumia 630 is also rumored to run on. Therefore, it is likely that Nokia’s revelations have something to do with the new version of the mobile operating system.

In addition to new devices, it is possible that Nokia will let you know which functionality it will add to Windows Phone 8.1. Earlier, the company also did this based on Windows Phone updates that Microsoft released: at the beginning of this year, Nokia rolled out the Black update, which is based on the GDR3 update for Windows Phone 8.
