Netflix will stop supporting the app on Sony televisions from 2011 to 2013

As of February 2024, Netflix will stop supporting its app on a large number of Sony devices released between 2011 and 2013. This concerns televisions from the HX, EX and W series, and various Blu-ray players.

Sony brought the message out earlier this week. Support will end due to the “technical limitations” of the devices, the company says. Sony has posted a list on its support page showing which devices support will soon end.

The Netflix app on affected devices will continue to work until February 2024, after which Netflix will no longer support or use the app. Sony writes that customers via alternative methods can still watch Netflix on their devicesfor example by using a Chromecast or an HDMI cable between their TV and a laptop.
