Netflix shows first official photos of characters from TV series The Witcher

Netflix has already given a preview of the upcoming The Witcher series that is in production. Some of the protagonists can be seen in the photos, such as Geralt of Rivia, sorceress Yennefer and Princess Ciri.

On the pictures from Netflix features Geralt of Rivia, including a single sword, his gear and his signature gray locks. Also featured is the sorceress Yennefer, who is played by the actress Anya Chalotra. There is also a photo of Ciri, who is played by Freya Allan.

It was already known that Superman actor Henry Cavill plays the lead role and thus takes on the role of Geralt of Rivia. The Witcher series was announced at the end of last year and is based on the eight books by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. This means that the TV series is not directly related to the games.

In April, Netflix’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos announced that the TV series The Witcher will be released in the last quarter of this year. The exact month in which that will be is still unknown, but more about the series will be announced during the Comic Con in San Diego on July 19.
