Netflix adds option to disable autoplay

Netflix has added settings to its website to disable autoplay in its apps. Users can turn off auto-play trailers in menus. It was already possible to disable Netflix from automatically starting to play the next episode.

These are two separate settings, according to a page on the Netflix site. The settings can only be found in the browser; they are not in the Netflix apps. They are located in the settings of a profile, where users can also set a name and avatar, among other things. The check marks are on by default.

Netflix added the options in response to user feedback, such as let the streaming service know. “Some people find this feature useful. Others don’t. We’ve heard the feedback loud and clear.” The options apply to all devices on which users watch Netflix.
